Laura Gibson, a consultant with TCC, works with the firm's Evalutaition, Philanthropy, and Nonprofit areas. At TCC she has used her skills with such clients as the Wachovia Foundation, Episcopal Community Services, Piper Trust, and NPower. Gibson recently completed her PhD in Research Psychology at Harvard University. During several years of social science research (at Harvard and Princeton) she was involved in running studies from start to finish. She has designed, analyzed, and interpreted data covering a wide range of content areas and presented her findings at talks and conferences.
Gibson also served as a teaching assistant for statistics courses for fellow psychology graduate students. This experience led to an internship at Sensory Spectrum as a statistical consultant. There she analyzed descriptive and consumer data to explain consumers' evaluations of clients' products from a sensory perspective. She also interpreted consumer data in presentations and advertising claims for Fortune 500 clients. Her academic and market research experiences prepared her for her role in evaluation services.
She has also served on the board of the Boston Choral Ensemble for the last three years. As president, she managed monthly meetings and worked to restructure the board from ad hoc to focused committees through intensive discussions with members. Through her leadership she was able to stabilize the fledgling organization and establish long-term development, marketing, and membership plans.
Gibson's undergraduate degree is from Dartmouth College where she majored in Cognitive Science and minored in Music.
