Sally Munemitsu, Associate Director, offers expertise in corporate philanthropy, grantmaking, employee involvement, and program development and management.  Since joining the firm in 2000, Munemitsu's work at TCC has focused on providing strategic guidance on corporate grantmaking and employee involvement, crafting capacity building initiatives, and managing complex grantmaking and corporate evaluation projects.  Clients include Altria Group, American Cancer Society, Kraft Foods, National Urban League, Pfizer, Prudential, The Center for Global Partnership (The Japan Foundation), Prudential, Chesapeake Bay Trust, Valley of the Sun United Way, Wachovia, and the Wachovia Regional Foundation.

Prior to business school, Munemitsu was the Coordinator of International Relations for the Mayor's Office of the City of Yao, Japan, as well as the Program Manager of the Yao Exchange and Teaching (YET) Program, a sister-city teaching exchange program that she created.  She managed and further developed Yao's English as a Second Language program by managing the YET Program, offering teacher training sessions, organizing cross-cultural projects, and publishing a team-teaching series on lesson planning, interactive activities and music in the classroom.  Prior to her work with the Yao government, she was a junior high school English teacher specializing in team-teaching in Japan.

Munemitsu is a graduate from the Wharton School of Business and The Joseph H. Lauder Institute of International Management, a dual degree MBA-MA program offered at the University of Pennsylvania.  She concentrated her studies in Public Policy and Management and International Management with a focus on East Asia and the Japanese language.  During business school, Munemitsu participated in a Students for Responsible Business (SRB, now Net Impact) internship at the Little Tokyo Community Development Corporation, and continues to be active as a Net Impact alumna.  Her B.A. is in International Relations and Asian Studies also from the University of Pennsylvania.  She is currently a Board member of the Asian Arts Initiative in Philadelphia, a community arts center where artists and everyday people explore and express their diverse experiences as Asian Americans.
