Comprehensive financial practices for operational efficiency and long-term sustainability

A dynamic member of TCC Group’s financial administrations staff, Katie performs a range of activities that codify and optimize the firm’s finances. She administers key billing, reporting, and collections functions, enabling TCC and its partners to drive social change for the individuals and communities they serve. With a keen eye for fiscal responsibility, Katie helps TCC to maximize operational efficiencies to ensure a high-quality client experience. Staff rely on her steady, approachable demeanor to maintain sound budgeting and accounting practices across client projects and internal reporting.

With more than two decades of bookkeeping experience at both small companies and nonprofit organizations, Katie has sought to reach underserved communities throughout her career. Causes that she’s championed include arts education funding, small business training, and equity for minority populations and individuals in the LGBTQ community. In addition to her work at TCC Group, Katie leads the financial operations of Sharron Miller’s Academy for the Performing Arts, which provides comprehensive and inclusive training for children, teens, and adults in dance and theater.

  • Sharron Miller’s Academy for the Performing Arts (SMAPA): Since 2014, Katie has steered the Montclair, New Jersey-based nonprofit toward financial sustainability, tracking revenues, maintaining reporting data, and implementing cost-reduction solutions to increase future revenue. Katie also produces quarterly income statements, compiles information for annual audits and grant proposals, and establishes payment plan procedures in collaboration with leadership. As a versatile staff member, Katie plays a vital role in maintaining SMAPA’s long-term health and viability, allowing the organization to advance its goals of enriching the lives of dance and theater students of all ages and backgrounds.
  • Hemmert Studio: Katie worked for six years as a bookkeeper for the Madison, New Jersey-based graphic design studio. In close collaboration with the studio’s director, Katie tracked revenue and expenses, executed accounts receivable and reconciliation functions, and prepared tax documentation for submission. Katie also managed payroll processing for the studio’s designers as they produced photography, brand collateral, and marketing material for clients throughout the New York metropolitan area.
