Using global experience to solve today’s challenges

As a first-generation Bangladeshi, a concern for social justice and the developing world was seeded in Nahima’s childhood, which included travel and a sharpened perspective on cultural disparities.  Nahima is at her best when facing some of the world’s most challenging issues: food insecurity, environmental risk, educational equity, financial inclusion. Accustomed to collaborating across multiple sectors and teams, she brings this acumen to her work at TCC, where she is supporting FPWA’s effort to promote economic well-being among New York’s most vulnerable population. She is also lending her project management skills to AAPD, keeping staff on track to reach strategic goals.

When working as a Senior Associate for DAI, Nahima conducted several short-term assignments, managing budgets over $65 million in field projects across Asia. Not content to stay behind a desk, she has traveled to many countries, spending time Bangladesh, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan while always rising to the challenge of finding her way in unknown territory. She assured alignment with project goals, improved operational efficiency, and discovered new partnership opportunities. In Kazakhstan, Nahima oversaw a major conference that promoted economic opportunity, and in particular trade, agriculture, and tourism, in the region.

Nahima also worked at Abdale Consulting , deepening the organization’s understanding of client priorities, aligning vision and strategy among corporate funders, human service organizations, arts and culture groups. In her spare time, she enjoys pottery and yoga, both of which help keep her centered and fully in the moment.
