Guiding community leaders to actualize social impact

Naomi partners with passionate leaders championing game-changing strategies. Inspired by her experience as a nonprofit CEO, Naomi is committed to coaching clients on organizational challenges—from leadership to infrastructure—in order to establish lasting social impact. With extensive experience in organizational strategy, leadership development, coaching, and capacity building, Naomi has applied her action-oriented approach to the education, gender equity, Jewish nonprofit and philanthropic, and community development sectors, among others.

At TCC Group:
  • Yeshivat Maharat: Naomi co-led Yeshivat Maharat’s first-ever formal strategic planning process. As the only organization in the United States ordaining Jewish women as clergy in the Orthodox community, Yeshivat Maharat gained clear, strategic direction in a complex, changing community. Learning from diverse stakeholders, Naomi helped Yeshivat Maharat understand and determine its relevant partners and the path to its desired impact: equal leadership opportunities for women in the Jewish community. Through the process, Yeshivat Maharat’s leadership determined its strategic focus areas for the next phase of its organizational life: strengthening program quality, building a pipeline of excellent candidates, and deepening community engagement.
  • Danville Regional Foundation: In 2017, Naomi helped guide a cohort of 11 local grantee organizations in translating their CCAT reports into actionable capacity building plans, collectively contributing to the revitalization of the Danville, VA community. Through providing individual coaching to each organization, Naomi ensured the grantees’ key areas for organizational growth were relevant, impactful, and time-bound. Through the process, the cohort of organizations established deeper relationships to more effectively collaborate and create local impact. As a next phase in 2018, Naomi worked closely with foundation leadership and TCC colleagues to design themed workshops and peer learning opportunities for the cohort to sustain organizational capacity.
  • Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation: Naomi coordinated the research, synthesis, and writing of a resource guide for Gates Foundation program officers on five key dimensions of nonprofit organizational effectiveness: Leadership, Financial Management, Fundraising, Financial Sustainability, and Organizational Culture. Incorporating expertise from across the TCC team, she crafted an effective tool to strengthen program officers’ ability to engage in learning-focused conversations with Gates’ grantees on critical matters of organizational sustainability.
Before TCC Group:
  • PresenTense: As CEO, Naomi supported the launch of over 350 social ventures through community-based partnerships, enabling social entrepreneurs to develop skills, build networks, and effect positive social change. She led the organization through a period of strategic growth over five years, expanding its reach into new markets and new products to meet evolving customer demand. Naomi managed and developed PresenTense’s Design Thinking curriculum and built a Train-the-Trainer model to scale its reach.
  • Advanced Education: By participating in a three-step transformational training program, Naomi enriched her leadership and coaching skills in the context of her personal, community, and global interests. As a graduate, Naomi remains active in the community and volunteers as a coach for the training center that provides a full curriculum of adult education workshops, seminars, leadership programs, and personal, team, and professional coaching.
