Our Team Nick Bessire Grants and Systems Coordinator Email Nick Supporting and strengthening corporate citizenship Nick works with corporate clients to advance their community outreach and impact efforts. In this role, he is inspired to build external programs that give back to a community while also positively impacting the internal culture of an organization and the role it plays in society. Nick supports grants management, administration, reporting, and announcement work. He supports the backend administration of grants management software and other supporting systems. He works to help clients select and get the best out of their grants software. Nick is also a skilled researcher and provides in-depth reviews of issues areas, industry trends, and influencers to inform strategic thinking and creative development. At TCC Group: Ono Pharma Foundation: Nick helps coordinate the Ono Pharma Breakthrough Science Initiative Awards Program (“Ono Initiative”), a competitive awards program to support scientific research projects throughout the United States. He works closely with the Foundation to establish the award application procedure, manage the review process, and support the backend technology including the application help desk and online grants platform. Nick also provides event planning support and coordination for both the awards program and annual scientific symposium. ascena retail group – Roslyn S. Jaffe Awards: With expertise and extensive experience managing award programs, Nick assists the corporate team with the Foundation’s annual program that provides financial awards to individuals and their organizations who are making the world a better place for women and children. Nick and the TCC team vet thousands of applications annually, answer applicant phone calls, schedule interviews, assist with the help-desk for applications, and help the Foundation to narrow down nominees. Before TCC Group: PCI Media Impact: Nick contributed to the development and production management of serial television and radio productions designed to increase knowledge, change attitudes, and facilitate behavior change addressing social issues including violence against women, HIV/AIDS prevention, sustainable development, reproductive health, and human rights. Immersed in content development, he drafted questions and talking points for radio serial dramas ensuring engaging and captivating storytelling. He also conducted grant research and wrote grant reports for grantees and projects to demonstrate value and impact. International Center Migration Health Development (ICMHD): Nick conducted research on social, economic, and political barriers to cancer treatment and prevention among immigrant populations in Europe and the U.S. that were influential in informing policy positions.
