Holistic evaluation through an international lens

Valeria sees evaluation as one of the most empowering tools that organizations and individuals can use to advance social change. Deeply committed to expanding access for clients and information users, she has experience performing qualitative and quantitative data analyses and applying an international perspective. At TCC Group, Valeria works with partners on such issues as health leadership development, cultural heritage preservation, and women’s rights, among others.

As a native Chilean who’s lived in three different countries, Valeria brings a multicultural approach to evaluation. She considers the diversity, contexts, and challenges of all her partners and peers. Prior to TCC, she worked on the internal consulting team at the Ministry of Economy in Chile, where she supported leadership and provided key information for decision-making.

Pragmatic, methodical, and holistic, Valeria helps widen the cultural lens for her partners, resulting in greater impact for the communities they serve.

At TCC Group:
  • Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF), Change Leadership Initiative: Valeria participated in the ongoing evaluation of four RWJF programs to support and connect change leaders nationwide who are working to build a Culture of Health. Monitoring indicators and performing quantitative and qualitative data analyses, Valeria identified aspects with potential for improvement and contributed key information for decision-making at both the programmatic and organizational levels.
  • World Monuments Fund: Valeria contributed to the outcome evaluation of World Monuments’ Watch program. She conducted and analyzed in-depth interviews at the international level with recipients of the prestigious heritage designation and members of the community where they reside. Intended to support the program’s strategic planning process, the outcome evaluation identifies areas of improvement for the Watch program, which supports at-risk cultural heritage sites that enhance social inclusion and build new capacities in heritage conservation.
Before TCC Group:
  • Ministry of Economy in Chile: As an internal consultant at the Chilean Foreign Investment Promotion Agency, Valeria supported the implementation of Economic Development Strategies across priority sectors (Food and Agriculture, Energy, Mining, Tourism, and Global Services) through research, programmatic support, communications assistance, and stakeholder engagement. She also managed internal projects such as the design of new services and products for foreign investors according to OECD recommendations, the establishment of associated internal processes, and the definition and management of performance indicators.
  • The Earth Institute, Columbia University: Drawing on her passion for social and environmental sustainability, Valeria worked on the Institute’s multidisciplinary applied research team. She conducted qualitative and quantitative analyses to identify how New York’s green areas contributed to the well-being of its citizens. The research provided recommendations in the field of urban planning.
